April 2025 Message from the Pastor
As we enter the month of April, we’re reminded that love is more than a feeling — it’s a calling. At First Euhaw Baptist Church , we believe that God’s love is the foundation of everything we do — from worship and fellowship to serving our community and one another. This month, we invite you to join us in reflecting on the power of God’s love and how it transforms hearts, homes, and lives. God's Mercy
Mercy, as understood in the biblical context, is a fundamental attribute of God, in quality that allows God to withhold the punishment that is justly deserved and instead offer grace and kindness. The Hebrew word often translated as "mercy" is "chased," which encompasses loving-kindness, covenant loyalty, and steadfast love. In the New Testament, the Greek word "eleos" is used, emphasizing com The benefits of God’s mercy include peace, love, and joy. None of the behavior

LEARNING TO LIVE HUMBLY
Have you ever met an angry Christian? You may have come across Christians who love to grumble, complain, or even speak harshly about other people. Maybe you've even been that person at times in your own life. If we're not careful, we can easily become self-righteous within Christianity. After all, we know the truth and others may not. You might see how tempting it can be to look down upon other people, demean them, or consider them as worse off than ourselves.

GUARDING THOUGHTS IN CHRIST
Lap after lap, Katie Ledecky was in a familiar spot during the 1500-meter freestyle race at the 2024 Paris Olympics. For some fifteen minutes, she was far ahead of the rest of the swimmers and alone in her thoughts. What was Ledecky thinking about during the long race? In an interview conducted immediately following the gold medal winning performance in which she set a new Olympic record, Ledecky said she was thinking about her training partners and saying their name in he

OVERCOMING EVIL WITH GOOD
Doctor Doolittle, the fictional doctor who converses with animals, has delighted fans through books, movies, and plays. However, few people know that author Hugh Lofting first wrote the Doolittle tales to his children from the ghastly trenches of World War I. He later said that the war too awful to recount in his letters -- so he wrote and illustrated stories instead. These whimsical, joy-filled tales were Lofting's way of pushing back against the war's horror. It's in

WORKING TOGETHER IN CHRIST
"No matter where you are, what you'll going through; use what you have and make the most of it" says the young woman in a TV interview. Her words prompted me to listen carefully to the full story. I learned she was one of six sisters working toward nursing degrees. They were once homeless and struggling, yet they worked together to reach their common goal. And at the same tine the story aired, all six sisters were completing the nursing program at a local university.

GOD'S WAY IS LOVE
With extra time on my hands, my plan for the coming months centered on serving people as much as I could. But while helping new friend, I tripped and fell and broke my arm in three places. Suddenly I was the one in need. God's people cared for me with visits, gift cards, flowers, phone calls, texts, prayers, meals (and even box of chocolates), and by running errands. I couldn't believe how kind my family, friend, and fellow church member were! It was as God was saying "S
